Tolland County Economy was created by Carl Slicer, a long-time resident and owner of Besthire in Vernon (www.Besthire.com ). Carl has a deep appreciation for the quality of life here in Tolland County, and is very active in the community. Tolland County Economy is written and hosted by long-time resident Drew Crandall. Drew went to college at the University of Connecticut's main Storrs campus, and has spent much of his adult life living and working here.
Drew owns a marketing and media business called KEEP IN TOUCH in Vernon (www.DrumUpBiz.com) and leads an all-volunteer workplace ministry called Northeast Christians At Work also headquartered in Vernon (www.ChristAtWork.org ). Drew lives in a rustic log home in the woods of Ellington. Drew's firm is a long-time member of the Tolland County Chamber of Commerce. He served on its Board of Directors for six years. Drew is also no stranger to television in Connecticut. He has been on Sunday morning television in Connecticut for 15 years. From 1996-1999, he was a host of "A Show of Faith," a 30-minute talk show on WFSB-TV 3 (CBS) in Hartford; the past 11 years, he has served as host and sponsor of "Connecticut Christian News" on WHPX-TV 26 (Pax) in New London. Drew serves as Past President of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) CT Valley Chapter.
